Welding Engineer
Northeast Ohio – Our client is a Tier I automotive stamped, welded, and assembled mechanisms for passenger cars, light truck, SUVs etc.
The Weld Engineer develops, monitors, and oversees welding techniques, procedures, and applications of welding equipment. Problem solving and maintaining quality are paramount while developing weld schedule. programming and continuous improvement at the plant level. The role is responsible for weld fixture improvements, training of repair welders, supporting new product launches, and approving/rejecting weld quality, while also developing robotic programming techniques and welding parameters. The position tracks production-related welding assembly issues, including meetings and data gathering, designs/fabricates fixtures and tools to aid in manufacturability, supports production and quality managers in maintaining current mass production, and develops relationships with welding equipment suppliers.
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering Technology with a focus on Manufacturing Engineering. Current experience in automotive manufacturing welding. Experience with automated welding robotics.
